Get a phone number: buy, bring or port
ProspectingView calls from phone numbers in your workspace. An Admin or Manager can buy local numbers in Settings › Phone › Get numbers. They can also use an existing business number with Bring your own number, or move that number to ProspectingView. Keep one primary number for callbacks and a few prospecting numbers for cold calls.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You are an Admin or Manager. Other roles see only My calling settings.
- Calling from the browser is included in the Pro, Max and Enterprise plans and in the free trial. See plans and pricing. Numbers are billed; the price is shown before you order.
- Decide how many calls a day your team makes. Each number rests after about 50 calls a day so carriers keep trusting it.
Primary and prospecting numbers
Section titled “Primary and prospecting numbers”| Kind | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Primary number | The number people see for follow-ups and call you back on. Keep it off heavy cold calling. |
| Prospecting number | Numbers the power dialer rotates through for cold calls, preferring one with the lead’s area code. We recommend 2 or 3 per caller. |
Buy numbers
Section titled “Buy numbers”- Open Settings › Phone. The Numbers tab shows Your numbers.
- Press Get numbers. Get phone numbers opens.
- Search: enter an Area code, or a City and State. Switch on Include nearby area codes for more choice. Press Search and select the numbers you want.
- What are they for? Choose Primary number or Prospecting number. For prospecting numbers, answer About how many calls will you make per day? and ProspectingView suggests how many numbers you need.
- For a primary number, enter the Caller ID name: the business name people see, up to 15 letters, numbers and spaces. For prospecting numbers, choose Shared pool (recommended) or A specific agent.
- On Confirm your order, check the numbers and press Place order.
New numbers are usually ready in a few minutes. They warm up over their first 2 weeks: daily limits ramp up automatically. Carrier registration is submitted for you and usually takes a few business days.
Use your existing number
Section titled “Use your existing number”- In Settings › Phone, press Bring your own number.
- Choose Keep it where it is. The number stays with your current carrier, and callbacks still ring your existing phone.
- Enter Your business number and press Continue.
- Choose Text me a code or Call me with a code, enter the 6-digit code and press Verify.
The number becomes your primary number. Calls from a number that stays with another carrier get a lower trust rating, so use it for light calling, not heavy prospecting.
Move (port) your number to ProspectingView
Section titled “Move (port) your number to ProspectingView”Choose Move it to ProspectingView (marked Recommended) to transfer the number. It keeps working during the move, which usually takes a few business days.
- Your numbers: add the numbers that are moving and press Check. Each one shows whether it can move.
- Account details: enter the Account number, Transfer PIN, Name on the account and Service address exactly as they appear on your bill. Mismatches are the most common cause of delays.
- Documents: read the authorization to move your numbers and type your full name to sign it. Upload a Recent bill (PDF, PNG or JPG) to speed things up.
- Transfer date: choose As soon as possible or Pick a date. Your current carrier sets the final date.
- Review & submit: check everything and press Submit transfer.
Follow the transfer on Moving your number to ProspectingView. It moves through Submitted, In review, Scheduled and Done. If it shows Action needed, press Update details. Messages from the carrier appear under Updates, where you can reply.

Section titled “Check number health”The Number health tab shows how carriers see each number: Good, Warming up, Resting, At risk or Flagged. A number marked Resting reached its daily call limit. A Flagged number may show as spam; press Rest this number and Request review.
