Call through a list with the power dialer

The ProspectingView power dialer calls through a list for you, one person at a time, from your browser. It tries each person’s numbers in order, moves on from dead numbers and rings nobody answers, and stops trying someone once you have spoken to them. You tap an outcome after each call, and calling pauses after a conversation so you can write it up.

  • The power dialer is included in the Max and Enterprise plans and in the free trial. See plans and pricing.
  • Your role can place calls: Admin, Manager, Broker, Agent or Assistant.
  • Your workspace has phone numbers. See Phone numbers.
  • A headset or microphone your browser is allowed to use.

You can start from any of these:

  • An open list: press Lists, then Call this list.
  • Any grid, filtered or with rows checked: press Start calling this list in the grid toolbar.
  • The + button: choose Start Calling.

Start Calling opens. Check each section:

  1. Who you’re calling: the list and, optionally, Name this list. Leads without a phone number are skipped automatically.
  2. Skip anyone called in the last a number of days or months. Switch on Include everyone to call people you reached recently too. Callbacks you owe always come through.
  3. Caller ID: calls rotate through your prospecting numbers.
  4. Call order: List order or Shuffle.
  5. Numbers per person: how many of each person’s numbers to try (1 to 10).
  6. Recording & voicemail: Record calls and Voicemail drop stay off unless you have consent. See Call recording and consent.
  7. Press Start Calling, then Hit Go — Start Calling when you are ready.
  • One call at a time. Nobody picks up to silence. When a call connects, you are already on the line.
  • Briefing: before each call, a short recap of the person and your history with them, on the Max and Enterprise plans. Last time shows your last conversation.
  • Tap an outcome when a call ends. See Call outcomes.
  • Write a note in the after-call note. Smart-note shortcuts such as #task call back Friday update the record as you type.
  • Voicemail: if you reach voicemail and turned on voicemail drop, press Drop voicemail and move on. See Voicemail drop.
  • Controls: Pause, Resume, Stop session, and Hang up and call the next lead. After skipping, you can tap a reason: Already spoke, Not the right person or Later.
  • It tries up to the set number of each person’s phone numbers, in order.
  • Disconnected numbers and rings nobody answers move straight to the next number. A number the carrier reports as disconnected is recorded automatically and not dialed again.
  • As soon as you speak with someone, their other numbers are left alone.
  • A call nobody answered can be tried once more after a delay your Admin sets in Settings › Dialer.
  • Nobody is called outside their calling hours or while on a do-not-call list. See Calling hours and do-not-call.

The console tells you why. Common reasons:

  • Paused after your call: you spoke with someone; write it up, then resume.
  • Waiting for the next call window: everyone left is outside their calling hours or has a later callback.
  • You’ve reached today’s calling limit: your numbers made as many calls as they safely can today.
  • You’ve finished this list: everyone on it has been reached.

The Session summary shows the duration, how many people you dialed, how many you connected with, your talk time and a count of each outcome.

Admins set the defaults in Settings › Dialer: Ring-out retry, Numbers to try per person, Counts as a real conversation after, Pause after each conversation, Recently-called window and Skip cooldown. Callers can change the per-list options when they start a session.

Why does ProspectingView call only one person at a time?

Section titled “Why does ProspectingView call only one person at a time?”

So that every person who answers hears you right away. Dialers that ring several people at once leave the extra people in silence or hang up on them.

It had no phone number, was called within your recently-called window, was outside its calling hours, or is on a do-not-call list.

Your plan allows single calls but not the power dialer. See plans and pricing.
