Call recording and consent

Recording is off until you attest you have consent. Inbound callers hear a disclosure before recording starts, logged as a consent record. When you record, ProspectingView transcribes the call and writes a short summary on the contact’s activity history.

  • Recording is included in the Pro, Max and Enterprise plans, and in the free trial. See pricing.
  • Know the recording-consent rules where you and the person you call are. Some US states require everyone on the call to agree. ProspectingView does not give legal advice.
  1. When you start a dialing session, Start Calling has a Recording & voicemail section. Record calls is off.
  2. To record, switch on Record calls. The screen reminds you: “Recording laws vary by state — some require everyone on the call to agree to being recorded. Turn this on only if you have that consent.”
  3. Switching it on is your attestation: “By turning this on, you confirm you’re allowed to record these calls.” ProspectingView keeps a record that you confirmed it.
  4. The person you call does not hear an automatic announcement on outbound calls. If you need one, say it yourself at the start of the call.

When someone calls one of your ProspectingView numbers, they hear a short disclosure before recording starts. The disclosure is logged as a consent record for that call.

  • The recording, on the contact’s activity history.
  • A transcript, with who said what.
  • A short summary: the topics, the tone of the call and any follow-ups mentioned.

Admins and Managers can play back any call in the workspace. Everyone else can play back their own calls. See Team and roles.

Recording was off for that session, or you did not confirm consent when you started it. Recording cannot be turned on after a call ends.

Email support@prospectingview.com from the address you sign in with, and say which call it is. We can also export or erase everything held about one contact when that person asks.

Does the disclosure play on my outbound calls?

Section titled “Does the disclosure play on my outbound calls?”

No. The automatic disclosure plays only on calls coming in to your numbers. On outbound calls, recording depends on the consent you confirm.
